Mentoring and coaching are not the same. At R.I.S.E. Leadership, we offer both! Read more to discover how they're different. Reach out to us to find out which is right for you.
Mentoring:
One-on-one mentoring is a long-term, relationship-based approach to development and growth. Mentors share their personal experience, expertise, and skills, in addition to offering advice, assisting with networking, and helping mentees navigate their career paths. This relationship is built on trust and mutual respect in order to offer support and ongoing encouragement.
Coaching:
While one-on-one coaching also serves the goal of professional development, the relationship tends to be shorter-term and less personal. A coach does not share the details of their own journey, but instead focuses on asking powerful questions and helping the coachee develop strategies for improvement, usually in specific, pre-determined areas. Coaches may be certified and accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
